Party Sub Sandwiches - The Story

Our family takes our sports very, very seriously. Being from Ohio, we take our Ohio State Buckeyes very, very seriously, and we live and breath football during the
season.

During our recent Thanksgiving trip back home, we managed to drive through Columbus, pick up some gear, walk around The Shoe and eat at the Easy Living Deli. We had, of course, sub sandwiches. (I can personally attest to the fact that their salami sandwich is fabulous, very fabulous, and so very far away from my current residence.)  This created a vague association in my mind between subs and football.

This year we were actually able to stay in Ohio long enough to watch The Game on TV (for the benefit of the uninitiated: The Game is the Michigan rivalry) with family. My uncle made the most fabulous party sized sub sandwiches. They were perfect for game day—he sliced them into smallish pieces so we could keep going back for more. This solidified party subs in my mind as the perfect food for game day.

This is what we will be eating for the Sugar Bowl today. GO BUCKS!!!
