Hearty French Toast
This is a hearty variation on the standard French Toast recipe. I am using homemade whole wheat bread to give it substance and texture. This is very filling. If you do not make your own bread, look for unsliced artisan bread at you farmer’s market or grocery store. You will also need a very heavy griddle or frying pan to keep it from scorching.
Pumpkin Muffins or Bread
This is the Pumpkin Muffin Recipe my family has used for many years now. It is not particularly rich or spicy (unless you add extra spices) but is a rich and hearty muffin. I like to make these most often during the cooler times of the year because they seem a bit too hearty and heavy for warm weather – much more suited to warm you up on a cool day. They are delicious and have a soft, fine, smooth texture.

I have overcome that fear and now know how to keep from being burned, but the tradition was set and so it remains – if he is home, he fries the bacon. So here
