I will be posting lots of recipes for experienced cooks to add to their repertoire. I also hope to eventually provide everything a new cook would need to prepare these recipes, detailed information on: ingredients, tools, methods, and step-by-step photo instructions. It will take some time to fill all those areas, but that is my goal. I hope to throw in quick tips, frugal ideas, and nurturing discussions along the way.
However, I also believe that food is about much more than just a cup of this with two teaspoons of that cooked in such and such a way. Food is about people, and at the end of the day, people are all that matter. Our family, friends, coworkers and neighbors will not always remember what we fed them, but they will treasure forever the way we did it and the heritage we expressed by so doing. That is why I will focus on the heritage, community, and story behind each recipe.
You may have noticed this first post is on January 1, 2011. Starting a new project fresh in a new year is meaningful to me and I hope it will be an inspiration to be faithful and consistent about doing great work here.
With hopes for meaningful nurturing through food and establishing a wonderful community here,
Elizabeth R.
